Kat Riggins lights up the stage with a soul-drenched salute to the fiercest women in blues history. Backed by a thunderous band, she reimagines hits from Bessie Smith to Janis Joplin with grit, grace, and fire. Each song is a revival, each note a tribute. This is the kind of show that confirms that the blues is still alive and thriving!
PERFORMER BIO:
Born in Miami and raised on a soundtrack of gospel, soul, and rock n roll, Kat Riggins found her true voice in the gritty, passionate sounds of blues legends like Koko Taylor, Denise LaSalle, and Etta James ( to name a few). At 23, she began singing jazz and blues standards in a cozy Florida lounge—and never looked back.
Kat’s electrifying blend of blues, rock, gospel, and soul has taken her across the U.S., Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Dutch Antilles. She wowed Dutch audiences on national TV and sold-out shows during the Johan Derksen Keeps the Blues Alive theater tours in 2018 and 2019. Her raw, heartfelt sound was fully realized in Blues Revival (2016), followed by In the Boys’ Club (2018), a fierce tribute to women in blues.
Joining Gulf Coast Records in 2020, Kat dropped Cry Out, earning a Blues Music Award nomination and two Independent Blues Awards. Her follow-up, Progeny (2022), debuted at #13 on the Billboard Blues chart and scored another BMA nod. Her sixth album, REVIVAL (2024), created with drummer and producer Tim Mulberry, celebrates the pure joy of the blues—and landed a Soul Blues Album of the Year nomination.
With seven BMA nominations—including four for Soul Blues Female Artist of the Year—Kat’s powerful voice, dynamic stage presence, and fiery originals keep audiences dancing, singing, and feeling every note. Whether belting out a groove or delivering a tender ballad, Kat Riggins makes every performance personal.
She’s a blues woman through and through—keeping the flame alive, one unforgettable show at a time.
